The friction coefficient of the two contact materials decreases as the contact load increases, and finally stabilizes. The wear rate of slip ring increases with the increase of current. When the current increases to a certain value, the wear rate of the material increases with the increase of the load, showing a U-type change law of decreasing first and then increasing.


There is a suitable contact load between the friction pairs. Near this load, the wear rate of the contact material is small, and the friction coefficient and contact resistance between the friction pairs are also low. Under this load, the slip ring has excellent working performance. This suitable contact load is also different when the contact material is different.
